The Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Degree (CAFyD in its Spanish acronym) aims to train professionals with methodological and state-of-the-art technical preparation, committed to society, willing to propose efficient work methods within the fields of education, training, health and quality of life, sports management and administration as well as leisure and tourism.

 

EUNEIZ proposes a curriculum that integrates new technologies and focuses on the fields of sports management and readaptation, two innovative specialisations led by Baskonia and Deportivo Alavés. This involvement from the two most important sports clubs in Vitoria-Gasteiz certainly guarantees the success in the training and education process of new professionals. ‘Learning by doing’ enables future professionals to be trained in practical ways and in real situations, so that they can develop all their skills and competencies.

Growing Demand

As a result of the general population becoming increasingly more active, the sector requires more and more qualified professionals in the field of health and sport.

Work Placements and Mobility

Work placements provide the highest form of individualised training at EUNEIZ and they are a fundamental link between academic knowledge and the workplace. We also encourage various mobility programmes, given that we have international agreements with universities in Europe and America, as well as SICUE (Exchange System between Spanish Universities) agreements with several Spanish universities.

The student must complete and pass three optional subjects (18 credits) from among those offered: New Trends and Valuation Methods in Physical Activity and Sports, Sport-specific Training and Development of Sports Talent, Hydrotherapy, Holistic Therapies, Readaptation to Effort, Innovations in Teaching Physical Education, New Trends in Physical Activity and Quality of Life, the Profession and Future Challenges for the Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Graduates, the Heart and Physical Activity...

Access Requirements

Under the terms and conditions set forth in the aforementioned Royal Decree and the regulations in force, access to the course may be granted to those who meet any of the following requirements (see the access requirements for the University Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences).

 

The University does not envisage any access tests being required for this Degree. Thus, access to the first course of the Degree will be through university pre-registration, a system that guarantees equal conditions in the entry process for the first year of any university course.

 

Following the model of various renowned universities, physical aptitude tests (PAT) will not be a requirement for access to the Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Degree, although it is advisable to have solid training in matters related to Health Sciences. It is also necessary to be physically fit and maintain this condition, as well as being enthusiastic about sports and be active in general.

With regard to the insertion of graduates into the labour market, it has been possible to determine the existence of five professional profiles, with their respective specific skills in the following fields:

In addition to the recognised specific areas of performance for graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, their professional development will take place in:

  • The issue of a prior mandatory report from the Basque Government’s Department of Education.
  • Issue of a favourable verification-authorisation report from the Agency for Quality of the Basque University System (Unibasq).
  • Verification of the qualification from the Spanish Government’s University Council.
  • Authorisation from the Government’s Department of Education.
  • Establishment of the official nature of the qualification through the Agreement of the Council of Ministers.
  • Registration in the Register of Universities, Centres and Qualifications (RUCT in its Spanish acronym).
  • Publication of the Council of Ministers Agreement (Pt. 5) in the Official State Bulletin (BOE in its Spanish acronym).
