The University Master’s Degree in Sporting Performance Specialisation is an innovative degree in the Basque Country. Its aim is to provide students with advanced, multidisciplinary training oriented towards academic and professional specialisation, as well as initiation into research tasks in the field of sporting performance specialisation. Aimed at students on the Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (PASS) course and other university degrees who can also demonstrate the Higher Sports Technician qualification (Level 1 of the MECES), it guarantees a high level of theoretical and practical mastery of the contents, skills and abilities linked to sports training and coaching with young people, as well as talent detection and sporting performance specialisation. The objective is to offer high quality professional and scientific training in the field of sporting performance specialisation and, in a broader sense, in intensive training with young people. This Master’s Degree in Sporting Performance Specialisation, which is taught on a presential basis, consists of 60 credits, structured into five modules and 10 compulsory subjects (48 ECTS), and a sixth module consisting of the Master’s Thesis (12 ECTS). This master’s degree is organised into four main areas of training.

Who is it aimed at?

The admission profile for the University Master’s Degree in Sporting Performance Specialisation is that of a graduate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and, exceptionally, other university graduates who can also demonstrate Higher Sports Technician training, complying with the requirement of having a related degree and, simultaneously, Level 1 sports training, according to MECES.

The Master’s Degree in Sporting Performance Specialisation includes the possibility of completing external academic placements as an extracurricular activity. Thanks to the relationship between Baskonia-Alavés and the EUNEIZ University, students who access these extracurricular placements will have the opportunity to complete a minimum of 100 hours linked to the sports teams of these sports clubs, from middle childhood to adolescence. The main areas that can be developed in the placements are as follows:

How is learning assessed?

Assessment in this master’s degree is a fundamental aspect that seeks to encourage reflection and the application of theoretical knowledge in professional life. Also, in each module, depending on the learning outcomes, the instruments to be used for the assessment process are specified from among the following:

All these tasks will be mentored and closely monitored by the Master’s teaching staff. The assessment system is formative and based on a continuous dialogue to improve the approach developed, using a rubric to show evidence of learning. Furthermore, the guidelines for the Master’s Thesis of official Euneiz degrees will be followed in accordance with the established regulations.

The assessment of the MT includes the evaluation of the work, the assessment of the MT tutor and the quality of the presentation and defence before the panel made up of members of the teaching staff with academic and/or professional experience in the field of knowledge.
