The academic plan for this pioneering University Master’s Degree centres on digital production technologies and their application in innovative music creation, addressing the study of different styles and the most advanced compositional techniques.
This technological expertise will include the use of advanced editing software, digital sequencers and sound synthesis tools, allowing students to explore new creative and production possibilities.
This University Master’s Degree, which is taught on campus, with a focus on applied research and technological innovation in digital music, consists of 60 credits, which are structured into four compulsory subjects (48 ECTS) and a Master’s Thesis (12 ECTS).

This official qualification trains students to create original music for a range of formats, including film, theatre, dance, video games and live events, enabling them to create compositions that not only meet technical requirements but also convey a powerful artistic message. The University Master’s Degree in Creative Music and Digital Production Technologies is aimed at a wide range of professionals from the artistic and technological sectors. Specifically, it is designed for professionals with a university degree with proven experience in music creation; for professionals with a degree from a professional music, dance and theatre (performing arts) conservatory; for other professionals with a degree in arts education with proven experience in the management and production of cultural and creative industries; and for anyone with a university degree interested in technology, creation in the arts, sound art and physics/acoustics.
There is no specific entrance exam for this Master’s Degree, but the internal regulations include two admission criteria, which are a personal interview and a statement of interest from the applicant.

How do you learn?
The teacher will guide the student in a personalised way in their training process. Each module has a teaching plan which specifies, depending on the training and learning outcomes associated with it, the training activities and teaching methodologies. These include the following:
At the beginning of each module, students will find the resources for the module on the platform (reference material and documentation), as well as resources for carrying out activities and obtaining the knowledge, expertise and skills of the disciplines, which they will complement with the face-to-face sessions planned for the weekends.
The University Master’s Degree in Creative Music and Digital Production Technologies is based on a learning-by-doing model, with a careful balance between theoretical and practical classes, with a greater emphasis on practical work in face-to-face sessions. The aim is for the student to acquire the knowledge and skills that will be practically applied in the conception, development and implementation of a functional project.
The course will end with the presentation and defence of the Master’s Thesis, where students will demonstrate that they have acquired the competences, knowledge and skills required for an official master’s degree that gives access to the doctoral programme.
