Euneiz University is committed to conducting high-quality research in its areas of expertise with the aim of achieving academic excellence, leadership and recognition for the institution at local, regional, national and, above all, international level. Euneiz has identified three strategic areas of knowledge—Health, Sport and New Interactive Technologies—to address global and regional challenges, aligning itself with the priorities of the Basque Country, the Basque University System (SUV) and the Basque Country 2030 Science and Technology Park (PCTI).
The Health Area aims to promote well-being and quality of life through innovative solutions that connect applied research, technology and clinical practice. The prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, the prevention of sports injuries and the improvement of health are the main research objectives in this field.
CRA: Based on Critical Research Areas (CRAs), the strategic lines focus on sports injuries, chronic diseases and biomarkers in functional health.
The Sports Area addresses challenges related to physical performance, the promotion of physical activity, and injury prevention and recovery.
CRAs: These include approaches that combine biomechanics, sports psychology, active lifestyles, nutrition and ergogenic aids, with a strong focus on technology and social transfer.
The New Interactive Technologies Area focuses on creating and applying innovative digital solutions, with an emphasis on education, social welfare and cultural impact.
CRAs: These cover educational technology, social transformation, humanistic criticism of technology, and the development of cultural and creative industries, connecting applied research with knowledge transfer and technological innovation.
The research projects currently underway at the Faculty of Health Sciences are notable for the diversity of their funding bodies, the relevance of the topics addressed, and the avenues for collaboration open to academic institutions and strategic international partners.
